The Tery
- THE TERY - A black ink and black color pencil on 11 x 14 size coquille board. It is one of several drawings I did to illustrate the story, "The Tery," by F. Paul Wilson that appears in the paperback book, "Binary Stars, No.2," published by Dell Pb in 1978.
I was really disappointed when this drawing, along with the other "Tery" drawings that I did for the paperback book, were reprinted in a hardcover edition in 2007 by Overlook Connection Press. As payment for the reprint rights to my artwork the publisher had promised me several copies of the book. But I never received those copies after the book was published.
And now, 5 years later, in June of 2012, I saw a copy of the book listed on eBay for sale, so I ordered it. And to my surprize I received a phone call from "Dave Hinchberger," the publisher of the book, who was also the seller of the book on ebay. He recognized the buyer as being me, Fabian, the illustrator, so he went back to check his records and discovered that he had not sent me any copies of the book as yet.
And so, here I was, on the phone, listening to Dave apologize and say that he would refund my payment for the book and that he would send me several copies.
Which he did. I'm looking at them now, and I'm very pleased because the drawings in the 1978 paperback edition were printed on very cheap paper and were badly reproduced. In this new hardcover edition they look much better.
